Large Watercolor: Little River Boat Ticket Building (My Title) [I Love this One!] A Little Building That Existed Down by the Mississippi River, in St. Paul (It Might Still Be There! I Want to Find Out!)
Double-Sided Surprise Watercolor! Tea Cup & Saucer, Little Copper Teapot & Pomegranite On One Side, Wineglass on the Other!
My Mom cracks me up! I was going to trim the painting (shown in the top photo), when I happened to flip this over, and see the wine glass on the other side! It made me smile. What made me even more delighted, though, is that, after seeing the painting with the tea cup, etc. I was hoping and wishing that I had saved that same tea cup itself (from my Mom's house) - and then, behold! I found it! Happy day! I got to place the tea set on top of a shelf here, in front of the painting. (I have a pic of that, & will post it later.)
I asked Kelley Gallery (in Hudson) to create a double-side frame for this; and to position the copper wire so that I could flip it over and hang it to either side. They added a touch of gold paint to the back too. It works! :)
Watercolor, "EXIT" Out of Babylon the Great (My Title)
There is one thing though. This originally had a cross at the top of the building's biggest dome. I could not, by conscience, display it in my home with that. So, I got an Exacto knife, held my breath, and cut that little bit out!
Now, I keep this painting near my front door - for motivation to get out there; and preach Jah's own scriptural blessing and warning messages to everyone.
Cutie-Sweety Horse-y, Eating Some Subtly-Sparkly Alfalfa (My Own Title) [It's Hard to See the Sparkle in These Views...]
My Mom's family had a farm, with horses, out in White Bear Lake, MN (as well as a house in St. Paul...) This, to me, says, that, yes, she did have some love for nice, friendly, pretty horses!
"When a Person Has Mettle, Obstacles Become Stepping Stones" Colored Pencil, Cut and Stuffed Paper, Dried Weed, Caligraphy
This was a larger piece of paper, with some damage around the outside - and I also had a frame I was aiming to have it placed in - and so I dared do a hack job myself, of cutting it down, around the outside, using a pair of decorative scissors that my Mom had also left me...
Original Lithograph Made From Copper Plate, Titled, "Where is Everybody?"
Little boys, like her sons (my little brothers), waiting for their playmates to come out to play! Back in those days, we REALLY did PLAY - outside, in the creation, with other kids! We played yard games, made tent houses, roller-skated on the driveway, played jump rope, etc, etc! We exercised our imaginations constantly. (This was all before even PONG [a first video game] set in!) My Mom, Trudy, WAS the neighborhood "Kool Aid" (and popcorn, etc!) Mom too!! We grew up during the recession (and there were other straining problems from another person) but WE KIDS HAD FUN, anyway! My Mom made sure of that. Love you forever, Mom! :)
